 Our Doctors

Susan L. Evers, DVM:

Dr. Susan Evers is a sixth (6th) generation Chico resident. Veterinary medicine has always been a part of her life. Her parents, Henry and Marilyn Evers, started their veterinary practice in Chico when she was 2 years old. It was a mixed practice (large and small animals), much like that described in the James Harriet books. Large animals were treated at the farm or ranch and small animals were brought to their home on Sunset Avenue. The building on El Monte Avenue was built in 1962 and has been a busy veterinary hospital since.  She graduated from Chico schools including CSU, Chico. She received her veterinary degree from the University of California, Davis in 1981. Following graduation, she returned to Chico to work within her family's veterinary practice.

Dr. Susan Evers is an active member of Soroptimist International of Chico and is a past president. She has also served as president of the North Valley Veterinary Medical Association and has been a member of the California Veterinary Medical Association House of Delegates.

Susan is married to Robert. They have two children, Ryan and Stacey and a pug dog, Chloe. She enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, traveling, and riding her bicycle.

Rounding out the household are Nelli, their Chihuahua rescue, Trudi, their herding dog rescue, and two cats "Carleton" and "Lizzy". When he is not busy working, he enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.

Anne M. Ripke, DVM:

Dr. Anne Ripke was born and raised in Ukiah, California. She graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Oregon State University in May 1995. She practiced at small animal practices in Washington, Wyoming and South Dakota before settling in Chico at Evers Veterinary Clinic in January of 2004. Dr. Ripke started working at veterinary clinics when she was 15 years old and her love of the profession has never wavered. Her special interests include behavior and internal medicine.

She is married to Kevin Brown, a family practice physician at Enloe Hospital  here in Chico. Moving to Chico brought them closer to their families and it fit their desires for a small town lifestyle. They also considered it an ideal place to raise their twins, Erin and Sean. In her free time she enjoys playing with her kids and her dogs Zipper, Keisha, and 2 cats George and Karma. She also loves hiking, photography, and rock climbing.
